Landscape blankets are wider than they are tall, and portrait blankets are taller than they are wide. Sizes are listed width first, so 60" x 50" is landscape and 30" x 40" is portrait. Match the shape to your photo, too: a dog stretched out lying down suits a wide landscape blanket, while a sitting dog suits a tall portrait one.
